Wedding fairs and planning your wedding

As wedding fair season is well and truly upon us I thought a few lines wouldn’t go amiss!

I was at the Fitzgeralds Woodlands House Hotel last Sunday and met some lovely couples who were planning their wedding in Ireland. The Woodlands is situated in Adare in County Limerick and I met some old and new friends throughout the day.

My stand looked good – I had a beautiful bouquet of flowers with bird of paradise and orange roses from Ring o Roses and my new stand up banner.

The lovely Louie Quirke at Yes I do Ceremonies was there as was Liston Videos.

I was delighted to meet Susan and Willie from Adare Country Pursuits, which offer Falconry, Archery and Gundog Training for individuals and groups. I think is a wonderful idea for corporate event planning. Couples getting married from the States are always looking for interesting and different events to offer their guests and I think this is ideal.

It is something you can do outside as a group or as a couple and is a excellent addition to any list of outdoor events. The interaction is extremely personal (as you can see from the photo with me and one of the feathery employees) with the birds which I have been told is not the norm in other countries and which I have to say is thrilling.

I was at the Armada Hotel in Spanish Point wedding fair the week before and chatted to Olga from MrsRedHead photography as well as Hotel Doolin in County Clare.

Wedding fairs are a fun and informal way to gather information, mingle with suppliers and meet couples planning their special day. I am already looking forward to the next one!
